French painter Pauline Triboud’s exhibition “Following Verny’s Wake” will open at the Mercure Hotel Yokosuka in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture from Saturday, April 22, in conjunction with the port call of the French naval patrol frigate “Préreal” in Yokosuka. doing. This exhibition, supported by the Embassy of France in Japan, celebrates the achievements of François Leonce-Verny, a naval engineer who directed the construction of Japan’s first modern shipyard in Yokosuka in the early Meiji period. The name “Verny” is still rooted in the area along with the history of Yokosuka, and as “Verny Park”, it provides various opportunities such as a place for relaxation and the holding of events.

About Pauline Triboud

Born in Paris in 1979, Pauline Triboud was born into a family of artists for generations and is a submarine engineer. Active as an aerobatics pilot, and has been exhibiting paintings in Paris since 2015. He now has his own atelier and gallery in a wonderful location opposite Place Necker in Paris.

His 15 years of experience as a French naval engineer, having studied as an engineer at the Rue François Verny school in Brest, has had a great influence on his paintings. To date, he has produced numerous paintings on themes such as nature, the human body, and abstraction. [Image 3
